For those not Twittering away day after day, here's a recap of a few of the interesting links shared within the Designer Twitter community the last several days.

    Design & Inspirational Stuff

  • Neue Frutiger (@milton72)
Originally developed for signage, I used to use Frutiger quite a bit in some client and personal projects. Here's an updated version for 2009. Read its history.

  • From Scratch Bakery Logo Critique (@logocritiques)
Clip art rights, kerning, and color are some of the key concerns. What do you think?

  • When Illustration Meets Typography (@mulyoo / @swichi293)
OK, that 4th one down ("7") makes me go ewwwww but I really like those number extras near the end.

    Useful Tools / Sites

  • Pictaculous (@cheth)
I tried out this nifty little tool and it could prove quite useful. Upload an image and it will analyze it and spit out a variety of color palette suggestions to go with that image.

  • CreativesAre Toolbar For Creatives (@Designorati / @ThisIsColleen)
If the Google toolbar, Yahoo! toolbar, and any other custom toolbars you're using aren't quite enough, try this one. Now to make it more complete you might want to suggest this site for inclusion in some of the categories, hint, hint. I'm giving it a spin myself in FireFox.

    Reading Stuff

  • 42 Free Online Magazines for Designers (@chadengle / @behoff)
The list is slightly marred by several of the links/magazines being defunct but still some inspirational and informational reading in there.

  • A Huge List of RSS Feeds for Design Blogs (@marketized / @creattica / @andysowards)
If you prefer your news via RSS feeds, this list will keep you busy for awhile. One tiny but important omission... they left off this feed.

    Fun Stuff

  • 15 objects with Typography (@insomniadude / @DesignerDepot)
I want the bar of soap, the alphabet drawers, and the Lorem ipsum cuff. Which are your favorites? Hey, you could team some of this stuff up with these pants.

  • The Coolest Calendar Ever Sucks Ink Out of a Bottle (@walkthedeadline)
I don't know how useful this really is as a calendar, but it would certainly be a conversation-starter in the living room.
