Easy to use software for desktop publish
- I would have to say InDesign (although QuarkXpress 8 seems to have mostly caught up) as it presents you with a white 'canvas' without wizards and dialogue boxes getting in the way. QuarkXpress and even good 'ol PageMaker adopt a similar approach.

- Keep it simple. I do long books, but not complicated graphics. I want to add pages easily, have simple templates that let me drop a picture and text in without being without have a degree in design. Publisher is too oriented toward brochures and flyers - I couldn't figure out an easy way to do a book, and the wizards drove me crazy, too. I downloaded several trial programs, bought three, but the one I like best is free. I use Scribus 1.3.3.12. I like the simple interface. The icons are intuitive - it's easy to tell what to click on for a double page spread or to change a layout.

RE: Easy to Use Software for Desktop Pub
- If you are using a Mac, the most user-friendly desktop publishing software is Apple's Pages. With every release it just gets better.

Easy to use software for desktop publish
- I found the "user friendly" software like Publisher very hard to use probably because I was already familiar with Quark Xpress. I have always like Quark until the latest versions which I hate. I go back to 6.1 for ease of use. I also find InDesign very easy because of it's integration with Illustrator and PhotoShop.
