From the article: Color Symbolism
Red is anger and love. Everyone loves blue. Pink is for girls not guys. Or, is it?
How much of a role do color meanings play in your graphic design color choices? Do you worry about the negative connotations of some colors? Do you consider the physical and cultural reactions to specific colors when planning a brochure or a Web site or a logo?
Does color symbolism matter in graphic design or is just something fun to read but with no real significance in your day-to-day color decisions?

- Im a dude and i love most shades of purple and am as straight as an arrow. Dudes imo rock Dark Shades of purple the best, imo Purple in General is a gender neutral color and this article is stupid to say all men hate purple, the writer is biased and needs to learn more about purples history, KINGS wore purple all over the world, and they were MEN. after all, Purple is the color of royalty.

Absolutely!
- Color symbolism and the effect of different color combinations are very important in graphic design. Color is part of the visual experience. Oh, and Guest Satan, you forgot to mention that if you have black pets, black clothes and furniture are very practical.

Colors = Personality
- Everyone thinks I'm strange when saying this but colors to me symbolize who a person is on the inside! Kinda like how people use astrology. And 99% of the time I AM RITE ON!! This has just been a personal intuition, nothing studied except PEOPLE! My favorite color is Purple..to me it says exactly who I am.. .Outgoing, passionate, honest, opinionated, dedicated, worthy, giving, guarded.... NOT EVERY COLOR MATCHES!!!

yes
- Colors mean something - even in various types of design. One example is the five united tribes who always add a touch of green into their designs. It is customary that the green symbolizes life. When designing advertising - every artist knows that red is only second to blue in sales promotions. The list goes on and on...
