What Kind of Business Card I Have
My business card is a celebration of my Art and my age.
I am a 81 year old Houston Artist and I have been painting
for over 40 years. My paintings have been shown worldwide
and I have had shows in several art galleries here in Houston.
I live in Houston, Texas in a division called Sharpstown.
I have lovely neighbors and we enjoy our home here.
At present I am working on a new departure for my art.

How I Created My Business Card
I used Microsoft Office Publishing to create my business cards.
I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements and Corel Painter Elements.
My digital camera is very useful in doing the photos.
It make me happy to be able to continue to make my art and
to do my photography. I make business cards for my friends and
my neighbors. I was editor of our civic association newspaper for
several years and I enjoyed my work with the association.
The computer has been such a big help. I can do my photography
without a darkroom now and it is much quicker and I have better
control of all the processes. It is much healthier too because being
enclosed in a darkroom with all those chemicals is not so good.
What I'd Do Differently
- I am quite happy with the last results I had with creating my card.
- I try to keep it clean, neat, readable and simple.
- As a former printing press operator I am quite familiar with the
- many types of business cards and I am very aware of which ones
- are more effective. I have done printing and also I have done
- silk screen of clothing. My friend owned a print shop and we worked
- together for a number of years. He is retired now and I am still
- doing my art. It is a joy to me to be able to still continue my
- painting. My hand is still steady and my eye is good.
The Software I Used and Why
Microsoft Office Publishing - It is simple and has many choices I can make.
The Layout I Used and Why
I used an easy to read font and layout. I like to make it simple.
Using elaborate type and decorated fonts make it harder to read.
The Fonts and/or Images I Used and Why
I like Times Roman Type because it is easy to read.
The Paper and Printing Method I Used and Why
I use good quality high gloss heavy weight photo paper.
I like it because it is durable.
