Use Decimal Alignment for Numbered Lists

Vertical Alignment with the Decimal Looks Neater

In a numbered list, align the numbers on the decimal point (or other separator) or the last digit of the number. This keeps a uniform amount of space between the number and the list items. Most page layout programs and word processors have a decimal tab setting that makes alignment a snap.
