Import Tab Delimited File with Default Tabs

Using default tab settings

Using default tab settings

Open your page layout software and place or import the tab delimited file "as is" into a new or existing text frame.

(Note: The blue and purple lines in the illustrations are part of the guidelines in the PageMaker document and are not part of the imported spreadsheet.)

In this example, the tab delimited file (fruittable.txt) is placed in Adobe PageMaker with the default PageMaker tabs in place. This results in a slight misalignment of one line of data, easily corrected. Depending on the length and complexity of the data file, there could be even more misalignments when using the default tabs.
