Once you've done the page set up you'll see a single white business card-sized box in the work area. The blue box inside represents your margins. By default the margins are .5 inches all around — way too much for most business cards.
  • Select Layout Guides from the toolbar, or
    File > Layout Guides
  • Select the Margins tab
  • A good margin for business cards is between 1/8 of an inch (0.125) and 1/4 of an inch (0.25) but the actual margins are up to you. You don't have to use the same margin on all sides either. Enter a number for the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom margins.
IMPORTANT: If you're doing business cards with a bleed using the manual method remember that you've set your business card size up to be larger than the actual card. Add that extra 1/8 of an inch bleed into your margins. For instance, if you want .125 margins all around, set the Margin Guides at .25 inches on all sides.

At this point, you can begin designing your business card. See the PagePlus SE Tutorials for help with adding graphics and text. Except for bleeds, just keep all your text and graphics inside the margins you've just set and you should be fine.
