Flag Fan Template (18K PDF)

Print pattern on 8.5x11 paper. Cut in half (where the two stripes are closer to each other). Align the pieces lengthwise (match the stripes) and tape or glue the pieces together. Trim edges as necessary. You'll now have a flag that is approximately 5.5 inches tall and about 16 inches long. Fold accordian style to make the fan. Attach straws or craft sticks in the lower portion of each fold of the fan then bring the straws or sticks together at the other end and glue together to form your handle.

Variations on Using Flag Fan Template:

  • In lieu of straws or sticks, you could simply glue or clip the "bottom" of the folds and hold the fan with that section.
  • Stick fans (with or without sticks) into floral arrangements to decorate your party.
  • Before cutting and folding, print or write your party invitation on the back. Send the folded flags in envelopes as a unique invitation.
