With the box sitting so that the opening is now the front, cut out the three sides that are on the left, right, and top. Cut off the flap on top. You can cut off the other flaps if you want. I left them in place. With the top flap removed, the small strip of cardboard left along the top panel is flimsy. I reinforced it with a strip of cardboard (from the flap I removed) and tape.

On the top of the box I left the cardboard partially attached to create a flap that I can use, if needed, to block light from above or behind. That's optional.
