QuarkXPress will automatically number pages in the style you designate when the proper page numbering code is placed on the Master Pages of your document.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 min
Here's How:
- Put Text Box on Master Page.
On a Master Page, create a text box and place it where you want the page numbers to appear. - Insert Page Number Marker.
At the point where you want the page number type Ctrl + 3 (Windows) or Command + 3 (Mac). - Repeat for Facing Page.
Repeat Step 2 on the opposite Master page. A page number marker will be on each master page -- <#>. - Format the Page Number.
Format the paragraph and page number marker as necessary. You might want to add text or embellishments in front of, behind, or on both sides of the page number.
Tips:
- Elements on the Master page are visible but not editable on all foreground pages. You'll see actual page numbers on the foreground pages.
