Create a Black and White PostScript File in Publisher 98

By Jacci Howard Bear, About.com

3 of 7

Select printer driver, paper size

MS Publisher

All colors are changed to black, white, or shades of gray

Publisher will change the appearance of the document on screen. Black items will be black. Any objects or graphics in color will be converted to shades of gray. The higher the resolution of the target printer, the greater the range of grays.

Next:

  • Select a printer driver (for the device to which the B/W document will print).
  • Choose paper size (Publisher can automatically select the "extra" paper size -- slightly larger than the final print size). Do not select the "extra" paper size if printing to paper that is the exact size of the publication.
  • Show printer marks (crop marks, etc.). Do not select this option if not printing to "extra" size paper.
