Script Fonts, Tightly Spaced Characters
Connected letters

The connected letters of this script font have been spaced out so they no longer touch.

Script fonts (among others) can be problematic for WhatTheFont because they often have connected letters. Separating the individual letters can help WhatTheFont more easily recognize the individual characters. Any text that is set with letters very close together or touching should be edited so that the letters aren't touching. If you have a long string of text you could go in and select and delete every other letter to create a sample with well spaced characters.

Fonts with thick and thin strokes and embellishments can cause problems as well. WhatTheFont will often not see those very thin strokes and think that one letter is actually 2 or more individual characters. Having your sample at a large size (72-100 points are larger) can help. Of course if you are working with an image with small text, enlarging it too much can distort the text so that it becomes unrecognizable. Enlarge it as much as you can without becoming too jagged or pixelated.

This sample resulted in several possibilities but the closest matches were English 111 and Shelley Script.
