Definition:

The (usually) right angled stroke on the capital letter G is its chin. It's the corner that connects the arm and spur.

In identifying unknown fonts, the G is often a good candidate for comparison. The chin along with the arm and spur make up an often distinctive feature of the font.

Examples:
The horizontal arm and the vertical spur of the G meet to form the chin.
