Definition: A lightweight, durable rag paper, onionskin paper is normally made with an unglazed or a cockle finish although other glazed and unglazed finishes are available. Onionskin has a basic size of 17" x 22".
Typically made from wood or rags, onionskin paper comes in many colors and is usually translucent, thin, and crisp (like the skin of onions). It may be referred to as tissue paper or as manifold paper when interleaved with carbon paper for manifold or carbon sets for typing duplicate copies.
