You might want to do a practice envelope just to be sure you understand how the templates work but it is fairly simple and straightforward. If you normally make envelopes by printing a template onto paper, cutting out the template, and then folding it this template kit can make the process a little easier.

Key Features

  • Use papers that might not work in your desktop printer (such as wallpaper or homemade paper).
  • Easily choose what portion of a printed paper you want showing on the face (or flaps) of your envelope.
  • Skip the tracing and scissors if desired (or use scissors if you want).
  • Get perfectly sized envelopes.

If you want to do different sizes of envelopes, you'd need to purchase a kit for each size (at about $5US per kit). Green Sneakers, Inc. (as of this writing) offers kits for about 5 sizes plus some additional kits with multiple templates.

The card making template included in this package is simply a piece of plastic with some cutouts for marking fold lines. Trace around the template, mark the paper at the cut-out triangles, then fold along the marks. It creates a quick card that fits the envelope.

If you regularly make your own envelopes and you want to use a variety of papers, the Kreate-a-Lope templates speed up the process -- especially if you use the template as a straightedge for tearing instead of using scissors.
