Crop to Get Multiple Uses From One Photo
Example: Cropping to use different parts of a photo

From Jacci Howard Bear, About.com

A girl and her cellphone used multiple ways.

Before: A girl and her cellphone. After: 1) Closeup, she could be looking at anything or simply thinking. 2) Hands holding a cell phone.

© J. Bear
The subject's face used alone could portray a girl in pensive thought or looking at almost anything. Or, crop only the hands holding the cellphone for an entirely different use.

(Cropped images have been further edited -- brush effects, duotone)
