Corel Desktop Publishing Software

The primary Corel desktop publishing software programs are Corel Ventura for page layout and long document publishing, primarily in a corporate setting, Corel WordPerfect, and the Corel Graphics Suite that includes CorelDRAW and Corel Photo-Paint. Comparable to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, the Corel Graphics products are used by both Windows-based non-designers and professionals. CorelDRAW is often used as a page layout application, especially for single page artistic layouts such as ads.
Corel Corporation
Founded in 1985, Corel Corporation has long been known primarily for its graphics software and digital imaging products. Corel produces products frequently considered strong alternatives to Adobe and Microsoft. Once a top choice for page layout, Corel Ventura -- version 10 was released in 2002 -- is not currently a frontrunner in the Corel product line. However, CorelDRAW, much like Adobe Illustrator, if often used for graphics-intensive page layout tasks.
