| Description | I'm working for a non-profit organization in Taiwan where I developed the interest and discovered I actually had the ability for DTP. I was introduced to Pub98 and currently use Pub2000. I know it's limited, but I'm really comfortable with it and know how to use it. I'm currently trying to learn Illustrator, Pagemaker, Photoshop and Quark. Kind of overwhelming, but hoping I can find a job upon returning to the states soon to utilize these programs. I love working on newsletters, brochures, business cards...any printed materials. My goal (hopefully one day) is to gain enough experience to work for a magazine. |
| Tips/Advice | Don't give up even if it seems overwhelming what needs to be learned. Looking back, yes I wish I would have known this was what I would choose for a career and would have gone to design school...but nothing like real world experience to help you find what you love to do. Do "practice" work for others and for yourself to gain the experience you need on all platforms. Good luck to everyone out there. |
