Definition: 1) Tooth is the surface feel of paper. The more tooth a paper has the rougher it feels to the touch. Some inks may adhere poorly to papers with very little tooth. 2) Tooth is also a slightly rough finish that takes ink well. A preferred surface texture for charcoal and pastel art.
