Definition: Embossing applied to a printed image to create a bas-relief effect is ink embossing. It does not mean that ink is used, it refers to embossing over ink. If an image is to be ink embossed it needs to be printed with heat resistant ink.

Also Known As: registered emboss, blind emboss (sometimes)
