Verso pages are on the left with even numbers. Recto is right odd.

Definition: Pages on the right side of a two-page spread are the recto pages. Recto pages are the odd-numbered pages in a book or similiar publication.

Page one of a publication is almost always a recto page, making these the front side of pages.
