Use a Low Resolution Image with Filters

Add blurry pixels to fool the eye

Filter Low Rez Images

Trick the eye into seeing what's not there with special effects and filters

You can sometimes trick the eye into believing that a low-resolution image has more data (information) in the file than it really has. This is especially useful when you must enlarge the low-res image. After enlarging, apply some special effects such as watercolor effects, motion blur, or noise filters. For best effect, place the image in the background with some higher-resolution image or text in the foreground.

In the sidebar illustration, after enlarging a low resolution photo of wildflowers (round inset), a painterly "Impressionist" special effect (from Corel Photo-Paint) was applied. Text (not shown) with a feathered shadow was placed in the foreground.
