Expand Font Archives For the Mac

By Jacci Howard Bear, About.com

Most free fonts on the Web are in a compressed archive to make them smaller. BIN, HQX, SIT, and ZIP are the most common filetypes.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 1-5 minutes
Here's How:
  1. If you don't already have it, Stuffit Expander is the best program to use to open font archives. You'll need some type of decompression program.

  2. If your browser is set up to automatically decode files, Stuffit Expander will be activated when an archive is downloaded.

  3. If not set to automatically decode, simply drag-n-drop the downloaded file onto the Stuffit Expander application to expand the file.

Tips:
  1. Stuffit Expander is free and will open most any type of archive. See the link below this and other programs.
