Create a Portfolio in 6 Days

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

Desktop publishing or graphic design portfolios should be more than just a few samples thrown into any old folder. Potential employers or clients use examples of your work to help determine whether they want to hire you. The samples you choose for graphic design portfolios and how you present them can affect whether or not you get the job.

Who Should Take This Class
If you aren't taking on new clients or if you're so well-known that your name alone can land an assignment, then maybe you can forget about formal graphic design portfolios. However, few of us fall into those categories.

This class is for freelance designers -- no matter how long you have been in business -- and anyone seeking employment in the graphic design or desktop publishing field. Even if you have no prior design experience you can learn how to create a portfolio of your work to show potential clients or employers.

How Long Will It Take?
An email describing each lesson will arrive daily for 6 days. Read the lessons and do the assignments at your own pace.

Don't Miss an Issue
Be sure to read the notes on making sure the newsletters can get past any spam-blocking measures you or your ISP have in place (below signup form). It's up to you. If your inbox is full, you won't receive delivery. If you use spam-blocking software that requires the sender to fill in a form, you won't receive delivery. You'll need to make sure that this newsletter is marked as "non-spam" or "friend" in whatever blocking software you or your ISP uses. If one does get lost, retrieve lost or missed lessons here: Create a Portfolio in 6 Days Lost Lessons. Additionally, each email contains links directly to each of the previous lessons you may have missed or lost.

Doublecheck your email address! Most of the bounces I receive are from subscribers making typos on their email addresses - transposing letters, leaving out part of the address, or accidently adding extra characters.
