Sublime T-Shirts

Sunday August 17, 2003
In response to a request for information on professional quality t-shirt transfers for resale, Bill Schuhle writes, "For really professional results, without getting into screen printing, sublimation is the way to go, IMO. The heat transfers produced by color copiers and inkjet printers basically "stick onto" the fabric to which they're being applied. They're kinda shiny and have a plastic "feel" to them. And they don't stand up to repeated laundering very well. The sublimation process, on the other hand, actually *dies* the fabric with the ink from the transfer, so the colors wash very well and the image has no "hand", as they say in the trade."
