Follow me on:

pretty spot colorsYou know a color when you see it, right? Well, sometimes the differences between turquoise and teal or magenta and fuchsia are subtle. But there's more to color than meets the eye (oooh, cheesy play on words there). Color is our perception of a reflection of light, a specific value and saturation of a hue, a pigment, an ink, and much more. In addition to how we (or our audience) perceives or reacts to a color or color combination, designers need to know at least some of the technical issues of displaying and printing colors. Get an overview of the meanings of color and the CMYK, RGB, HSV, and other ways we work with color. Learn more about color.
