A recent search term showing up in my site stats is "word templates for elsevier journals." Must admit I had no idea what that meant so I had to do some searching. Elsevier is " world's leading provider of science and health information" and they have tools for authors to submit Elsevier journal articles, reviews, and books.
For those looking for templates to use for formatting material for submission, I've found this (limited) information:
Where can I find a template for submission of a paper? tells us that "Most journals do not have templates available for the preparation of papers for submission. You need to submit your paper by completing the various submission steps in the online submission process." The FAQ does provide information on preparing a manuscript.
And these are some template sources that I have found:
- Templates specifically for the Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry and Tetrahedron family of publications are available for download from Elsevier. These are in .doc format.
- Onscreen Edition Basic has .dot and .doc templates for use with "a text-editing tool developed for copy editing Elsevier books." Also see Onscreen Editor for Option 2 books.
- Paper Submission has a "draft template that you can download" in Word format. This is dated 2010 so I don't know if it is a currently acceptable format.
- Elsevier Journal Paper Format DOC list (after the ads) a few sample journals/manuscript formats in Word format along with various instructions and guidelines.
Interestingly, much of what I've found discusses formatting Elsevier material using LaTeX.
