We usually think of Adobe as the source of professional software for business and freelance designers. But they do market to the home user as well. And the primary package targeted at the consumer market is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (Buy Direct). It's sometimes referred to as Photoshop Lite -- an option for those who want but can't afford Photoshop. In addition to photo-editing, Elements has strong photo organizing features. Adobe Premiere Elements is another consumer product that's for editing all those home movies and Adobe is also offering several different bundles of the two.
Released just a week or so ago for both Mac and Windows, Graphics Software Guide Sue Chastain outlines the new features of version 8.
