Giving Up On Photography?

Wednesday June 24, 2009
Toss that camera. Really. OK, I don't think I'll be a camera-tossing threat to anyone. I managed one decent image in about 60 some odd tosses. The rest looked like the shots I get from my camera phone when it takes shots inside my pocket. In The Colorful Art of Camera Tossing I learned about how to take pictures that don't require careful aiming and where blur is good. I thought, "Hey, I can do that!" Not as easy as it sounds. I was too chicken to try tossing my camera outside so I opted to try it in the middle of the bed -- a softer landing when I missed. My one decent shot, below, is not near as spectacular as some of the great images in the Camera Toss flickr group. Spirograph, anyone?

While poking around the ColourLovers Site I ran across a couple of interesting photo-related entries. Got a goofy family photo? Most of us do. Use it for color inspiration such as shown in Color From Awkward Family Photos. And in Color From Outer Space we're treated to some spectactular planet and star photos from which to draw inspiration.
