Do You Sell Greeting Cards?

Saturday December 6, 2008
At this time of year, a lot of people are starting or finishing up the process of making their own holiday greeting cards -- I'm in the "starting" group -- late again as usual. But some want to do more than just make a few cards to send to family and friends.

If you make your own greeting cards or are thinking about doing so, perhaps you could jump into this conversation in the forum. Malou writes,

"I want to start a small home based greeting card business. I need to know what kind of software to use for nice clip art and borders. nothing cheesy. also, should I install a greeting card template program?" Read the rest of the message
Both Trinity and I have recommended stepping up from the consumer greeting card software programs, perhaps to something like Serif PagePlus X3. But one concern that comes up in selecting clip art is the issue of using clip art on resale products. What specific clip art collections could you recommend that allow for the suggested uses?

Is there different software you'd recommend? How would you go about getting the greeting cards printed? Discuss all these issues and more on starting a greeting card business.

Hello! I have just my own store using Zen Cart, from which I will sell photo greeting cards based on my own photography work. Zen Cart is a general ecommerce software, so it may not be specialised enough for your needs. I get my cards printed and sent thanks to an online printing company.
