Giveaway of the Day offers 24 hours to download a completely free, licensed commericial package every day. Not always something useful but a good site to visit regularly for the occasional really cool software. At the time I'm writing this (7pm Central Standard on Wednesday evening) there is 6 hours let to get Foxonic. It's an image to PDF converter.

Yes, it is a very useful site — although always do a virus/spyware scan — there’s been a few scares.
Also, most weekends, they give away a free game. Check for Whiterabbit’s reviews, he’s very detailed about them.
It is a good site, yes - but - a lot of the programs don’t always work as expected, some DO have viruses, but there a lot of similar programs out there which can do the same job, also free. Also, if your read the comments left by other users more often than not they leave a high percentage of negative comments. I have downloaded many programs but after a while I soon delete them from my computer - something usually goes wrong it!
