Office 2008 for Mac

Tuesday April 1, 2008
Focus on Macs Guide Tom Nelson gives Microsoft Office 2008 for the Mac 3.5 stars. From his description, sounds like its got some "what you see is what you print" features going.
Word 2008 is similar enough to previous versions that existing Word users should be able to dive right in. There are six ways to view a document: Draft, Web Layout, Outline, Print Layout, Notebook Layout, and Publishing Layout. The Print and Publishing views give you a good idea of what the final document will look like.
In his wrap up, Tom gives a thumbs up especially to the improvements in Word, PowerPoint, and Entourage and to the fact that Office 2008 can run natively on Intel-based Macs.

But even with improvements, remember than Windows or Mac, Word and PowerPoint are not desktop publishing programs. Keep the pros and cons of using Microsoft Word in mind when creating documents such as brochures, newsletters, and business cards.
