I Love Dingbats

Saturday February 23, 2008
Like the writer at bittbox, I love dingbats -- the font variety of course. They've posted a list of 16 "incredibly detailed, useful (and free) dingbat fonts". To this nice list I'd also add:
  • EDB Wild Things - animals shaped like letters, these would make nifty drop caps.
  • Gargoyles de France - not just for Halloween, these are some great little monster pics. Love that menacing rat.
  • Doodle Dudes of Doom - fun little sketches might have limited use but I just think they're cute in a goofy sort of way.
  • Anarquia, Wonderful Wizard of Oz, KISS My Font - although I've identified some of the more Halloween-like images in these fonts they are full of nicely drawn characters, especially the Oz font.
