When Seeing Double is a Good Thing

Thursday November 8, 2007
After a long stretch of suffering with only a single monitor, I'm back to a dual monitor desktop.

I no longer have my pivoting portrait monitor and I've ditched the behemoth 21" CRT in favor of a 19" LCD and a 20" widescreen LCD. Yet even with this nice stretch of screen real estate I'm mentally measuring my desktop to see if a third display will fit.

Productivity is the main reason for using multiple monitors but I have to admit that it just looks cool too. Right now I'm still experimenting with wallpapers, toolbars, and where to dock my Vista gadgets sidebar. But I'm already finding lots of ways that having two monitors helps me work faster, more efficiently, and with less aggravation.

Still single? Check out these ways to use multiple monitors in desktop publishing with pictures.

I love using 2 monitors for the simple reason that I can see my artwork clearly without having all the palettes in the way. It’s the greatest idea for graphic artists since ADOBE!!
