How Does Your Ad Smell?

Sight and touch are the most used senses in print design while Web design gets to play around more with sound -- although I did recently buy some cute musical greeting cards.

But taste and smell don't usually come into play unless maybe you're evoking the memory of certain flavors and aromas with citrus color palettes or pictures of yummy desserts. Then of course there are those little scented strips of perfume samples stuffed between the pages of women's magazines. But Will Work of Food blog takes a look at some of the innovative ways that advertisers are trying to sniff out new customers with creative smelling techniques. There are already plenty of people with sensitivity issues who can't tolerate those fragrance strips so I can only imagine the stink that will arise from scented billboards and smell-o-vision DVDs.
