These Books Demystify the Art and Science of Folding Paper
Wednesday September 6, 2006
Folding a tri-fold brochure so the edges line up just right and the text doesn't end up in the fold can be just as tricky as making origami cranes or folding a paper airplane that doesn't immediately take a nosedive. Few people get it right the first time without a little help, perhaps a nice diagram and instructions. There are plenty of books and tutorials on origami and other paper folding crafts. When it comes to folding print projects like greeting cards, direct mail, business letters or envelopes, presentation folders, and brochures the information is more scattered and we're often left to the trial and error method. However, there are some all-in-one paper folding reference books out there that provide designers with both ideas for creative folding and the nuts and bolts of how to fold paper of all shapes and sizes, including detailed diagrams for laying out the design and folding the paper. Don't let your great design be ruined by a poor folding job.- Folding and Scoring
