Using Pictures of Paper Money
Monday October 24, 2005
About a month ago the U.S. government unveiled a new, more secure design for the $10 note that will enter circulation in early 2006. As with other new money designs released in recent years, the new $10 note incorporates features such as background colors designed to thwart counterfeiting. In addition to designing paper currency that is harder to duplicate, the U.S. government, as well as governments all over the world have specific rules regarding the reproduction of paper currency for legitimate uses - such as in print advertising materials. Before you try to copy a ten dollar bill and use it in an ad or brochure, make sure your use falls within the legal requirements for reproduction of paper currency for your country.
