Design Industry Survey and the Professional Graphic Designers Association

Monday August 29, 2005
Your help is needed with a survey - whether you are a designer or a graphic design client. Cat of Katz Design provides this introduction to the PGDA and what it hopes to accomplish:
"A growing group of Designers have banded together to form an association aimed at clients, the PGDA (Professional Graphic Designers Association).

After the PGDA gets sorted, our plan is to put together a site where viewers won’t have to wade through designer speak. A site written with the client in mind. This came about when we realised there was no one single site to send clients when they had questions about copyright issues, ethics in the design profession, how to work with a designer, how to use contracts, etc.

We've put together a survey to find out what the public feels is important to be addressed.

You can find two surveys here (one for clients, one for designers), along with the issues we've hashed out over the past months -->> PGDA: Code of Ethics

It would be a huge help if we could get your insight.
If you've ever found yourself in a position of having to defend the value of your work or as a client you feel that you may have been shortchanged or misled by a designer you hired, you may want to further investigate the PGDA and its principles and benefits and take the appropriate survey.
