• Importing Excel data into QuarkXPress
  FollowingHim tells use that "I am creating a phone book that will contain the names, addresses and phone numbers of about 700 people. This data was sent to me in Excel. I am using Quark 6.5 on a PC." Can you offer some tips for bringing this into QuarkXPress in the desired format?
  
  
• Alternate Shaded Rows in QuarkXPress
  Tim wrote, "I would like to have alternate lines in the schedule tables shaded, like the old green bar line printer paper. Is there an easy way to do this? I thought about doing the schedule in Excel and just placing the Excel file, but I can't flow that into chained columns, can I?" Later, he posted about an XTension and then a method that doesn't require an XTension - instead using the 'rule above' paragraph attribute - with some problems. Have more tips to share?

  Joe is looking for advice on getting AutoCAD drawings into QXP 5 and is wondering if version 6 would do a better job - or would InDesign handle these files better?
