I discovered some time back that there are three distinct categories of jobs in this field.
- the classic GD job working in an agency or studio,
- working as an inhouse designer/DTP for an organisation not solely devoted to graphic design -- which can be anything for a manufacturer, an architect, financial planner, school etc etc and
- working freelance.
