When you install new software that comes with TrueType, Type 1, or OpenType fonts it is usually installed automatically along with the software. If you've purchased fonts on CD, they may come with their own installation program or you can use the Install fonts feature of Windows or other font management software. If you download fonts from the Web they often come in compressed archives. Before installing the fonts the files must be extracted from the archive. Most of the time installation works flawlessly, but sometimes you may need to do a little troubleshooting before you can use the fonts you've acquired.
