For freelance designers, it's not always feasible due to client demands and the need to constantly have new projects coming in as old projects wrap up. I can think of a few possibilities specifically for designers that could allow you to "earn money while you sleep" (after an initial investment of time)...

- Templates. Round up all your most successful, original designs into a template package you can sell to other designers and non-designers.
- Self-Published Booklets or E-Books Share your expertise in desktop publishing and graphic design in essays or tutorials.
