When Colors Touch
Tuesday November 9, 2004
In my home remodeling project one of the steps involves hiding the seams or gaps where two pieces of drywall meet. I use a special paper tape and a white putty-like compound to cover those seams and make the gap invisible or less obvious. This is somewhat like trapping in commercial printing where a little extra ink is spread around to cover the gaps between colors.
When your designs include color areas printed side-by-side you usually don't want little tell-tale slivers of white paper showing through. But that can happen because of the nature of printing presses. Explore why those gaps can occur and ways to minimize the appearance of those gaps in this step-by-step basic tutorial on Trapping and How to Prevent Gaps and Avoid the Need for Trapping
