Printing on Compact Discs

Shopping for CD labels a few days ago I was overwhelmed by the choices available - so many different packages for designing and applying labels directly to compact discs. But for commercially-produced CDs there are fewer options - namely screen printing. But designing labels to print from your desktop printer and creating designs that will be printed directly to the CD face require different approaches.
